Beautyrest BR800 Mattress Reviews
The Beautyrest BR800 collection is a 5-bed collection. They're an economically priced group of beds. While Beautyrest does make more expensive models, these will still represent reasonable quality and features you'd expect from a well-known company like this one. You can read on for more details on these mattresses in our expert review below:

Type of Construction
Beautyrest BR800 mattresses are spring mattresses built on an 800 Series Pocketed Coil. Even though these are lower-priced beds, they're still made with pocketed innerspring coils. These are good because they provide support with each coil independently for targeted, pinpoint support. And they also minimize motion disturbance if your sleeping partner is getting into or out of bed. The mattresses have foam layers on top of the springs for contouring and additional support.
Beautyrest BR800 - An Overview
The BR800 group of beds is the lowest priced in the Beautyrest Collection, as I mentioned above. The 5 beds provide a range of comforts from firm to softer feels. Those feels are made with different style tops from the firm, flat tops to plush, and even puffier pillow tops. All the mattresses have the 800 Series Pocketed Coil innerspring system, a Dual Cool Cover which is a feature that's also included on their more expensive beds.
The purpose of the Dual Cool Cover is to keep you cool when you're sleeping, which is important because you cannot sleep as well as possible if your bed gets too hot. Except for the lowest-priced model, the other 4 mattresses all have some Gel Memory Foam in their construction. The gel is a high quality, premium material and they've added to these beds too. The gel within the memory foam helps to keep your bed cool and also does a good job of helping the mattress conform to your body curves.
There are different combinations of foams on these models designed to achieve different feels. You can see those differences in the specs below. Another good feature is that all the beds have edge support, which helps you sleep up to the edge of the mattress with a consistent feel and minimize the chance of rolling off a floppy edge.

More on Beautyrest BR800 Features
1. DualCool Technology
A top layer of cooling material helps to control body heat so you don't get hot since that can make it difficult to sleep well.
2. 800 Series Pocketed Coils
Individual spring coils give you exact targeted support under different parts of your body. And they minimize motion transfer when a partner gets in or out of bed.
3. Gel Memory Foam
Gel memory foam is a premium material that draws heat out and away from your body so the mattress stays cooler. It also conforms to your body's curves.
4. Beautyedge
The edge of the mattress is reinforced so you can sleep comfortably up to the edge of the mattress as well as comfortably sit on the edge of the bed.
Delivery Method
Beautyrest BR800 mattresses are sold by stores and online retailers but directly from Beautyrest. They’re delivered by home delivery services. Front door delivery is free and you can pay for in-home setup and/or the removal of an old existing mattress.
More about the Simmons Beautyrest Brand
Simmons Mattress Company has been a leader in mattress manufacturing for over 100 years. Their Beautyrest flagship brand has been a household name for many decades. Many people remember the “bowling ball” commercial where a bowling ball was dropped on a mattress to highlight their pocketed coils (a glass of wine would sit undisturbed when the ball bounced on the other side of the bed.)
A few years ago Simmons merged with Serta into the Serta Simmons Bedding Company becoming one of the 2 largest mattress companies in the world. In 2018 they merged again with Tuft & Needle. Simmons now markets the Black, Platinum, Hybrid, and Silver mattress collections.
Simmons is a large factory producer and they design and manufacture many of their own components in addition to assembling the mattresses. They have decades of experience and expertise in designing and making mattresses. Simmons makes millions of mattresses each year and they’ve maintained a positive reputation over the long run. So keep this in mind when you see some review sites call out consumer complaints. Questions to ask yourself when looking at review sites are what is their sample size, how do they gather reviews, etc. Does it look representative of tens of millions of customers? The truth is Simmons has tens of millions of satisfied customers they've earned over the decades.
ConclusionBeautyrest BR800 mattresses are economical, entry-level mattresses that represent a reasonable value if you want to spend as little as possible on a mattress. They're priced very low for products that come from a major producer. Beautyrest makes mattresses that cost upwards of $5,000, so these models are priced very affordably. The good thing about this is that you are getting the quality and reliability that come along with a Beautyrest mattress. There are some features that are offered on some of their more expensive mattresses. These include features like edge support, pocketed coil innerspring, and gel memory foam. Plus these mattresses come with the same 10-year warranties as all their beds. But let's be honest about what you can expect from these 5 mattresses. They're good for those looking for an affordable mattress of decent quality. If you want a mattress that will be comfortable for 10 years of nightly use, I'd encourage you to look at the better-equipped beds in the Silver or Harmony Lux collections. Those collections will give you longer durability and better materials. That's not to take away from the Beautyrest collection we're profiling here. They're a decent bed for the price.
